Turns out, offering the tickets for your upcoming tour exclusively on your website in a bid to cut out pesky service charges that Ticketmaster and Livenation are so fond of charging is a good way to sell tickets. Take it from Louis C.K., anyway. After doing just that, the comedian has sold a total of 100,000 tickets in just 46 hours, grossing $4.5 million dollars. How much money did you make these past two days?
"Well. After 45 hours, my tour has sold 100K tickets, box office gross of 4.5 mil $ (not all mine)," he tweeted yesterday in response to the news, "I guess it was a good idea." Yeah, guess so.
The tickets were sold at $45 a piece on his website, with no service charges or sales taxes pegged on.
