Earlier this year, we reported that Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels, and the Farrelly Brothers were all pegged to begin production on a sequel to 1994's cult comedy hit, Dumb and Dumber. But now, drama has hit the film as Entertainment Tonight is reporting that Carrey has dropped out of the project, citing lack of enthusiasm on the studio's part.

That's right, this move isn't because Carrey doesn't want to do the movie; he's accusing the studio of not being as excited about doing a sequel to an 18-year-old comedy as he is. We're sure the lack of enthusiasm has something to do with the fact that Carrey is no longer an A-list star, and that the Farrelly Brothers just laid an egg with The Three Stooges earlier in the year.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Carrey even went as far as to suggest a title for the movie, "I would have thought Dumb and Dumber To was a no-brainer, after all it's implied in the title." But now that effort seems all for nothing.

Are you disappointed in this news, or are you fine with letting this franchise go? Sound off below.
