Beginning In August 2010, Facebook allowed users to share their locations, via check-ins. Having now amassed 900 million users, the social network analyzed its vast reserve of location data to find the most social landmarks in the world’s top 25 cities. New York predictably saw a lot of activity in Times Square, as did the Staples Center—home to the Lakes, Clippers, & Kings—in Los Angeles. Other sporting landmarks around the world also made the list, including Barcelona’s Camp Nou, Eden Park in Auckland, and the Tokyo Dome. Malls were also among the most social sites in 19 of the cities, including Unicenter Shopping in Buenos Aires. The most surprising entry? A TGI Fridays in Oslo, Norway.
