Circle Pad Pro for 3DS XL Coming Later This Year

Just because Nintendo couldn't fit a second stick on their giant handheld doesn't mean they don't want you to have it.

Nintendo plans to make a bigger version of their Circle Pad Pro peripheral for the new version of their handheld, the 3DS XL.

According to Famitsu, the Circle Pad Pro XL will be released later this year (at least in Japan). The 3DS XL will launch in Japan on July 28th, and come to North America on August 19th.

In addition to news on the CCP XL, Nintendo clarified that current 3DS-owners will be able to transfer data from their 3DS to the 3DS XL. Also, the new console is compatible with the stand that came with Kid Icarus: Uprising. (I know that's a dealbreaker for a lot of you.)
