After The Dark Knight Rises is released this July, the question on the mind of every film fan is going to be: what will Christopher Nolan do next? Well, this month's issue of Empire (via The Playlist) has a very interesting revelation from the man himself. In an interview with the magazine, Nolan stated that he would be interested in tackling an installment of the James Bond franchise if the timing was right.

"It would have to be the right situation and the right time in their cycle of things," the director told the magazine. The word "cycle" seems to suggest that Nolan might be interested in waiting until a new Bond is needed so that he could have a hand in casting him. Of course, none of this is even remotely close to happening, but he did tell the magazine that he has met with the producers of the series in the past.

It's fairly obvious that portions of Batman Begins and Inception owe a huge debt to the tone and style of the Bond movies, so we already know the man can pull it off. It just remains to be seen whether or not all of the pieces fall into place.
