Apple isn’t sitting on its billions in reserve, after all. Instead, the company, it seems, is using its cash to erase some of its long-lingering problems. First, factory employees in China got a raise and now, deservedly, Apple’s retail employees around the world will also see a wage increase of up to 25%.

With its retail stores generating more money per square foot—$4,000—than any other retailer, the move makes sense, especially as staffers reportedly complained internally about comparatively low wages to the likes of Microsoft. Though at about $15/hour on the floor and $30/hour for Genius Bar workers, the numbers weren’t terrible in the first place.
