A 35-year-old Ohio sheriff’s deputy was fired this week for ordering five inmates to a dance to an Usher song to receive special privileges such as using the phone or the microwave. In addition to this sadistic treatment, he was accused of “acting inappropriately” and having a cellphone in jail, which was apparently the source of the music.

Citing an internal report, The Huffington Post says that on April 11, the deputy invited colleagues to watch inmates perform. One allegedly did the worm, and another the robot so that he could speak to relatives after a family member’s death. The deputy admitted that his actions were a complete abuse of power, but that he was trying to lighten the mood within the jail. Yes, those were his confessions.

What song were they forced to dance to? “My Way”? That entire album, possibly?
