Some would say fighting is kind of like dancing. There's definitely a rhythm to the back and forth betwen two people punching each other in the face. Project Zen is taking that concept to it's natural conclusion with Kickbeat, a combination music-fighting game coming to PS Vita.

Inspired by the fighting and choreography of old Kung Fu movies, Kickbeat puts you in the shoes of "the guardian of all music", who has to fight waves of foes that will conveniently attack you in time with a beat. Each face button punches or kicks in a different direction, but you can also play using the touchscreen if you prefer, tapping to take down enemies in time.

The best part? The game can use any music you download to the console, integrating whatever you're listening to at the moment into the rhythmic butt-kicking. No more waiting for developers to design the tracks you want to play. That alone is worth the price of admission.

Kickbeat is coming later this year, so keep your eyes peeled for more news on the game at E3.
