As a being so evil that his very presence causes madness in any mortal mind, H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu seems an unlikely candidate for video game heroism. Maybe that's why Cthulhu Saves the World is so hilarious.
The game was originally released on Xbox Live Indies, but a Kickstarter'd enhanced version for PC (and a re-released on Xbox 360) was funded in February. The new port will feature a mode that had to be cut from the original, in which Cthulhu hires a new character to be a hero so he doesn't have to.
In addition the remixed "Cthulhu's Angels" mode, developer Robert Boyd said working on the port will allow him to easily do the same for his previous game, Breath of Death VII: The Beginning.
In a tweet earlier today, Boyd said the new versions of Cthulhu Saves the World "are in the final stages of testing."
"If all goes well," he continued, "we'll be submitting [to XBLA and Steam] in a few days."
