Though still shrouded in secrecy, Airtime, the mysterious new web service/app from Sean Parker and his Napster co-founder Shawn Fanning now has a launch date: June 5.

The new entity is expected to be a social video platform that lets users meet and chat with one another from around the world. It's currently signing up early users via Facebook, a company of which Sean Parker was once president, so it's probably safe to assume that close integration with that social network is also planned.

Will it be Google+ Hangouts for Facebook? Or something more adventurous like Chatroulette, which Parker and Fanning once attempted to buy? We'll know more in a month, when Airtime is unveiled at a launch event in New York.

So far, the buzzworthy service has already attracted all-star investors, including Andreesen Horrowitz, Accel Partners, Will.i.am, Ashton Kutcher and Google Ventures among others.
