An 80-year-old nun from Madrid, Spain, is facing charges of kidnapping an infant girl as part of a massive baby-trafficking ring that involves stealing babies from poor mothers and selling them into adoption, according to the New York Daily News.
Sister Maria Gomez Valbuena appeared in a Madrid court today, but refused to testify as part of her right to remain silent. It's alleged that she's been involved in the ring for as long as four decades, and she as charged with stealing a newborn from a family in the 1980s.

Apparently, it later became a money-making scheme for hospitals and clinics.
Valbuena is the first, and hopefully not the last, person to be charged with a crime relating to the ring.
