Sony's take on Nintendo's popular Super Smash Bros. franchise, which pits the company's stable of recognizable characters against one another in fun fighting match-ups, has long been rumored. But recent developments suggest that the game could be revealed as soon as this week.

Sony's registered the domain name for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, and though the site is currently blank, the Whois records show that Sony is indeed the owner.

And with a PS3 exclusive slated to be revealed on GTTV this Thursday, it's not hard to connect the dots.

It's tought to say what characters would be included in PAS: Battle Royale, since so many former Sony exclusives have now moved on to other consoles. But we'd hope to see brand regulars like Lara Croft, Crash Bandicoot, Cole from Infamous, Sackboy, some Tekken characters and more.

What other Sony characters would you like to see in Battle Royale, if the rumors turn out to be true? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter.
