Russell Crowe has finally been confirmed to play the part of Noah in director Darren Aronofsky's adaptation of the Biblical story of the great flood, simply titled Noahaccording to Collider. The screenplay was written by Aronofsky and Ari Handel with revisions by Hugo writer, John Logan

The traditional story of Noah deals with the titular character building an ark to save himself and two of every animal on the planet from a massive flood released by God onto a world that had grown sinful and out of control. The movie is gearing up for a March 28, 2014 release date, and production will begin this July in New York and Iceland.

If you want a feeling of the stylized, and somewhat strange, direction that Aronofsky is going for in this Biblical adaptation, you can check out the trailer below to the graphic novel based on the movie that the director is releasing.
