InXile's Wasteland 2 Kickstarter has surpassed $2.1 million, and you know what that means (well, if you've been reading our reports on the project then you do): Planescape: Torment developer Chris Avellone and other team members from Fallout: New Vegas studio Obsidian are officially on board to help work on the game.

"We want to support this publishing model. After being in the industry for over 16 years, the Double Fine foray into Kickstarter feels like a change for the better," Avellone told RPS shortly before the announcement. "Ultimately, it’s still early and we won’t know the logistics for a short while longer, but we’ll keep folks updated. Right now, we’re definitely on board in a design capacity, which is one of Obsidian’s strengths."

What other games would you like to see picked up on Kickstarter? Are you excited about the pseudo Black Isle reunion getting behind Wasteland 2? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter.
