The Silent Hill film was one of the rare video game adaptations that wasn't absolute garbage, so it's understandable that we'd be excited about a sequel. In fact, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D has been done for quite a while (check out the 2011 on the poster above), but only now has it been picked up (by Open Road) and granted a release date: October 26, just in time for Halloween.

The sequel sees Heather Mason (Adelaide Clemens) and her father (Sean Bean), who's just disappeared, on the run after the events of the first film. After Bean's character's death at the end of season 1 of Game of Thrones, moviegoers will likely be expecting another death from his character this time, though we'll have to wait to see the movie to find out what happens.

Other Game of Thrones mainstay Kit Harrington (who plays Jon Snow) will also be in Revelation 3D. We wonder if Sean Bean will finally get the chance to tell him the truth about Snow's parents…

Michael J. Bassett directs. Is Silent Hill one of the game-to-film adaptations that you're into, or would you rather it remained on Xbox and PlayStation? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter.
