Over the weekend, legendary 60 Minutesjournalist Mike Wallace passed away at the age of 93. Gothamist recalled a 2004 incident that ended in Wallace being taken to the 19th Precinct after an argument with a couple of overzealous Taxi and Limousine Commission inspectors over a double-parked car.

Wallace had run inside Luke’s Bar & Grill to pick up some meatloaf he ordered, but returned to the vehicle to find the TLC inspectors examining it. The inspectors ended up arresting the then-86-year-old Wallace for becoming “overly assertive,” an accusation that witnesses rebuked.

After leaving the police station, returned home to eat his beloved meatloaf. Luke’s Bar & Grill would later rename the $17.95 meal “The Mike Wallace Meatloaf,” a perfect tribute to the man and his love for the dish. Wallace had been a regular at Luke’s until recent health-related problems.
