This doesn't sound like it would be too effective, but nonetheless: A man entering the U.S. from Haiti tried to eat a envelope full of illegal tax return checks after custom officials discovered them when his flight landed.
The man, Marc Saint Just, was arriving in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, when U.S. custom officials found the checks, which had the names of fraud victims on them. According to authorities, he refused to hand over the envelope, and instead promptly shoved it in his mouth with the intention to eat it - right in front of them.
For reasons that are clearly obvious to everyone but him, he was arrested, and is facing ten charges of fraudulent use of identification.
