To its east is a similar, but more ornate building at 7-9 Bond Street. Actually built as two independent buildings. No. 7 was also designed by Hatch to serve as part of the watch company’s offices and No. 9 was designed—though maybe copied as it looks almost identical—one year later by Griffith Thomas. The style of these places is also considered part of the Second Empire, though the finishes and details are more ornate than the Robbins & Appleton. Perhaps these features are more similar to the original building that was destroyed in the fire.
