Crytek probably won't be releasing a version of Crysis 3 for the Wii U. Crytek director of creative development Rasmus Hoejengaard, speaking with Destructoid, said there's "not a fat chance" that the sandbox shooter will land on the Wii U.

Though Hoejengaard didn't elaborate on why the game wouldn't get the port, if rumors about the console's less than stellar processing power are correct, than a Wii U port may simply not be able to meet Crytek's technical standards.

Similarly, the Wii U's unique control scheme, while interesting to many devs, may not interest Crytek. If that's the case, the extra work of creating Wii U controls may seem like more trouble than the port is worth.

Both reasons are, of course, complete speculation. Regardless of the reason, Hoejengaard seemed to be pretty sure that a Wii U version of the game "isn't in the cards," but you never know when or if somebody will change their mind.

Never say never, right?

Crysis 3 will come to PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 next Spring.
