U.S. Ranks 5th in Capital Punishment Worldwide

A dubious distinction.

In an Amnesty International Report, America's 43 executions in 2011 placed it behind only China, Iran, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia. Perhaps this report, coupled with the still-fresh memory of Troy Davis, may spur some change. 34 states still have the death penalty.

But this just sounds worse than it actually is...right?
