We all knew John Carter was a flop (sorry, Disney), but we didn't know exactly how much until now: According to a statement released by the studio, the projected loss due to the film comes to a total of $200 million. That's gotta hurt.

In the statement:

So far, the film about a former military captain who is transported to Mars, has generated $184 million in ticket sales worldwide. That is far shy from the audience needed to earn back the movie's estimated $250 million production budget, plus tens of millions more that Disney spent on advertising.

Ouch. But, to be fair, anyone who saw the promo for the film can't be too surprised...
