The protagonist may be Native American, as well.

The above image was reportedly sent to Kotaku by a Best Buy employee, who snapped it from the company's employee newsletter (which makes it fair game as far as we're concerned).

The image appears to substantiate previous rumors that the third numbered Assassin's Creed title will be set during the American Revolution. All kinds of details, from the confederate flag to the old-timey military jacket, point to that being the case. Furthermore, the tomahawk, the bow and arrow and a few other things suggest that the new protagonist may be part Native American. Or he's at least taking some cues from them.

We were getting pretty sick of Italy, to be honest. Though if these rumors prove correct, Assassin's Creed 3 could end up being one tragic game. We don't recall the part in American history where a Native American assassin totally saves all his people from oppression and hardship.

The source also provided a picture claiming Ubisoft will be revealing the game March 5, so keep an eye out and all ten fingers crossed over the coming week. Are you excited for a potential new setting for the series? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter.
