Iron Sky is a weird one. Set in 2018, this film sees the invasion of earth by Moon Nazis, who are basically Nazis that have been chilling on the "dark side of the moon" for about seventy years plotting their revenge against the world. Sarah Palin is president - this is a dark time, indeed - and she has a bunch of cheesy lines like, "all presidents who start a war in their first term get re-elected."

The film is set to have it's world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival, in which tickets unsurprisingly sold out within an hour. Considering the movie was created in six years with a budget of just $10 million, it looks pretty well done - apart from from the so-stupid-it's-epic premise, it doesn't look horribly filmed. It's not going to win an Oscar, or anything, but bringing it up amongst friends will definitely make for good conversation.

In the press release for the film, producer Tero Kaukomaa seemed to think so, anyway: "The concept of Iron Sky is strong, and the movie both looks and sounds awesome. We really believe it can compete against the big Hollywood blockbusters ten times our budget," he said. "We aim to give these giants a good run for their money, and show what power a community like ours really wields. We are encouraging our fans to grab the trailer and spread it through the Internet like it was the end of the world. We want more views for our trailer than these blockbusters, and with our dedicated fan base, we know we can do it!"

So, here's the trailer. It might just be the best thing you watch all day. If it interests you enough to want to actually go to a theater to see it - and why wouldn't it? - it comes out on April 4.
