Paula Abdul is the latest cast member to be let go from Simon Cowell's reality singing competition, The X Factor, despite the fact that she was recruited by Cowell himself when he was developing the series.
TMZ initially reported that Abdul got the call informing her of the news, but an update in the form of statement from Paula herself says otherwise. "Simon and I, along with Fox and Fremantle, have been communicating about this for a while now, and I have absolute understanding of the situation. Simon is, and will remain, a dear friend of mine and I’ve treasured my experience working this past season."
Paula's departure from the series comes after news that both Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones would be leaving the show as well. No word on their replacements just yet.
