Having been officially approved by Lego, production of the Minecraft Lego series is underway. The set is expected to go on sale sometime this summer. In the meantime, Lego CUUSOO blog has released some production details and pictures of the set.

Each set is comprised of four connecting modules that make up a Minecraft world as well as Steve and Creeper "micro mob" figures. The surface of each part of the set comes off for easy access to the underground area underneath.

Mojang's retail partner J!nx has already started taking pre-orders for the set via Facebook. The set is retailing for $34.99. Once the set has been released it will also be available directly through Lego.com and retail stores.
