Despite appearing in over 70 movies during his career, Gary Busey, 67, has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in California, according to TMZ. The site is reporting that Busey has less than $50,000 to his name, but he also has between $500,000 and $1,000,000 in debt to deal with.
In documents obtained by TMZ, it was revealed that Busey owes money to the IRS, Wells Fargo, a storage company, UCLA Medical Center, L.A. County Waterworks, and various lawyers. He also might owe money to a woman named Carla Loeffler, who he apparently attacked in an airport last May.
A representative for Busey said, "Gary's filing is the final chapter in a process that began a few years ago of jettisoning the litter of past unfortunate choices, associations, circumstances, and events." That pretty much sums up every celebrity bankruptcy case, doesn't it?
Don't worry about Busey, though. A mere 24 hours before he filed for bankruptcy, TMZ shot a video of the actor doing a little jig by himself in a parking lot. Perhaps he's getting ready for his second career as a dancing panhandler.
