We recently reported that stand-up comedian Louis CK has been hired by CBS to produce a sitcom pilot for the network along with Seinfeld alum Spike Feresten. Now Deadline is reporting that Ashley Tisdale has been cast as one of the leads in the yet-untitled show. The High School Musical star will play the part of Petra, a struggling young assistant to a fashion designer who is attempting to succeed during the recession.
The script for the show is an updated version of an outline that Feresten and CK wrote 13 years ago. There are no details on when the pilot will air or who else will star in it, but with Two and a Half Men and How I Met Your Mother all closer to the end of their run than the beginning, CBS has to be looking at this show as a potential high-profile replacement for some of the network's big guns.
