Apple Officially Kills Off White MacBook

Consider it a collectible.

None

The white MacBook is dead. Long live the white MacBook. Earlier this week it was reported by MacRumors that Apple notified its resellers that the white version of its best-selling MacBook laptop will no longer be available for purchase.

If you're thinking we're seven months late on this, you're wrong. True: Apple stopped selling the white MacBook to the general public back in July when it announced the new MacBook Air would retail for $999. But it would continue selling the popular portable to schools and universities.

Who cares, right? Plenty of people. Though mostly everyone has moved onto the unibody aluminum MacBooks, there are some people (like me) still rockin' with the plastic body models (mine is black, not white). Lauren Goode over at All Things D cares, too. Head over there to read her epistle to the old notebook.
