Orion 18 Braille Tablet
Release Date/Price: 2012 (under $5,000)
It might look like some Playskool beat machine, but you’re looking at the first-ever Android Braille tablet. LevelStar partnered with American Printing House for the Blind (APH) to create this note-taking machine for the blind, which features a Braille keyboard, smartphone integration, 3G broadband, and GPS navigation assistance. There’s even an option to download eBooks and have the Orion read it back. Users can also record vocals, jot notes, and saves files on 32GB of internal memory.
