Whether you're signing up for Gmail or getting involved on YouTube, Google may soon create a Google+ profile for anyone who makes an account for any one of its myriad services.

On the company's new Google Account signup page, all the info users provide is funneled into a new Google+ profile, which is now treated as a sort of defacto home base for the account.

Although many users may opt not to use their Google+ profile, the new signup process can't hurt the social network's userbase, which at last count was upwards of 90 million.

The bundling is the latest step by Google to leverage its prodigious Web footprint for the benefit of its new social network. The company recently caused controversy for prioritizing Google+ entries in its search results.
