Verizon Wireless has backed down from its plan to charge $2 "convenience fee" to subscribers who paid their bill online or over the phone using a credit card or debit card. 

In a statement made on the company's website, Verizon Wireless, the country's largest mobile network operator, stated that "customer feedback" caused them to cancel the fee it planned on implementing on January 15th. in an attempt to corral customers into its electronic Auto-Pay system which automatically deducted money from subscriber's accounts each month. 

Molly Katchpole, who started a petition earlier this year to force Bank of American to drop its $5-per-month debit card fee, brought major attention to the fee when she started petition on
