A pair of accused shoplifters in Ogden, Utah, had their getaway car broken into while they were stuffing their pockets with things they had no intention of paying for. Irony at its finest.
47-year-old Korin Vanhouten and 36-year-old Eldon Alexander (whose mugshots can be viewed above) were caught shoplifting at a WinCo supermarket, and while they were being held for questioning in the store's security office, a man was outside breaking into their car. When security released the pair, they returned to their car and discovered their stereo, amplifier, drum machine, and cigarettes missing.
"I think they were unlucky," Ogden Police Lt. Eric Young commented on the case.
