Folks must’ve really wanted to see Vin Diesel square off against The Rock without suffering the public shame of going to a theater—Fast Five is the year’s most pirated flick with a total of 9.3 million illegal downloads. That’s an estimated loss of about $90 million, despite grossing $200 million domestically and $400 million abroad.
The Hangover Part II, Thor, Source Code and I Am Number Four round out the top five, suggesting most downloaders were a) male, b) tech-savvy nerds, and c) indulging in their guiltiest of pleasures (well, not quite).
