Ever since Apple introduced the Retina Display with the iPhone 4, rumors have been sprouting up claiming the Cupertino, Calif. company would port the technology over to its other products like the iPad. Today, however, DigiTimes is reporting that according to a source familiar with Apple's supply chain, the next wave of MacBook Pros will receive the high-resolution displays.

According to the source, the resolution of the display will be an astonishing 2,800 by 1,800 pixels, or double the resolution of the current MacBook Pro displays which is 1,440 by 900 pixels. "The ultra-high resolution for the new MacBook Pro will further differentiate Apple's products from other brands," says the source.
