Square Enix has stuck to their guns for a decade and a half: remaking Final Fantasy VII is not a good idea (or so they claim). Despite remaking every Final Fantasy game that came before it, they insist that they're not going to touch FFVII. We're of the opinion that it's only a matter of time, despite their denials, but now a group of fans has taken it into their own hands.
Of course, making the game into a first-person adventure in Epic's proprietary Unreal Engine probably isn't what most fans had in mind. And can anyone tell us what's up with that green dude dissipating into thin air at the four minute mark? Granted, it's been a few years, but we definitely don't remember that part. Regardless, head to the group's site for more info about the project, which may or may not ever result in anything substantial.
