Warren Buffett, legendary investor and the third wealthiest person in the world, today told CNBC that he bought 64 million shares of IBM for $10.7 billion. Why? Buffett said IBM is unusual in that it "treats their stock with reverence." Whatever. His investment gives him 5.5% equity in the computer giant, making him the corporation's largest single stockholder. Big money talk.
