With her political hopes dashed, Sarah Palin is now free to comment on societies ills and recent gaffes. Her latest quip comes courtesy of Jerry Sandusky and the Penn State scandal involving the raping of underage boys. The Former Alaska governor, while appearing on Fox's Greta Van Susteren show, said that she thinks the former assistant football coach should be punished.

Of course, there is an investigation going on into the crime, and longtime legendary coach Joe Paterno lost his job, but that's not all that should happen, according to John McCain's former VP candidate. "Hang him from the highest tree. I'll bring the rope," Palin says with Greta appearing to be almost at a lost for words for a second. Quickly she interjected though, asking if Palin supported letting the justice system run its course. "Hang him from the highest tree and I'll bring the rope if he is guilty of what is alleged," Palin said, correcting herself.

Sounds like if Rick Perry could ever get his political ship back on course, he may have the right person to make the death penalty legal all across the United States of America. What do you think of this situation? Has Palin stuck her foot in her mouth one too many times? Or does she have a point?
