While many folks this holiday season will be obsessing over the tablet trend, those with a little more money to spend can now upgrade beyond the mobile devices and bring touchscreen technology into their homes in a big way: Samsung’s coffee table-meets-tablet SUR40 is now ready for pre-order, for the whopping price of $8,400.

Built on the multitouch Microsoft Surface technology, the SUR40 registers a 40-inch, 1080p display. Its impending release marks on of the first geared towards everyday consumers—older Surface tabletops have already become staples in hotels and other businesses, but those models boasted price tags in the $30,000-range. For being a couple years ahead of the curve, $8,400 now doesn’t seem so bad.
