SallyAnn Salsano, executive producer ofJersey Shore is set to conduct another bizarre, inadvertent social experiment using unknowing, dramatically-inclined people as subjects. Only this time, they're admitting it.

VH1 has picked up 10 episodes of Salsano's latest creation, titled Mama Drama, and describes the reality show as “docu-style social experiment" which centers around five mothers who are desperately clinging to their youth (we believe that call that "milfs") and their likely-dysfunctional daughters.

VH1’s Jeff Oldes explains the phenomenon of "mothers living vicariously through their daughters" and attributes the trend to "a new cultural definition of age with women in their 40s and 50s no longer constrained by rules about how they need to dress or act."

In other words, mothers who choose to be "bffs" with their daughter rather than role models in a ploy to feel connected to their youth. Which, in this case, will be evidenced by moms in the club with their spawn, taking shots and competing for men. Actually, we can't confirm that last part. But, it's not that much of a stretch, is it? We'll have to wait until the series premieres on January 1st at 9 p.m., and see how these Dina/Lindsay Lohan-esque relationships play out.
