Blackberry’s cloud-based music app, BBM Music, launches today, allowing users to download and share up to 50 songs per month for $4.99.

Sharing music via BBM is the main draw of the app, as users can connect their libraries to an infinite number of BBM users, therein stretching the limit of songs far beyond the download limit of 50. For instance connecting with 75 friends expands your access to include as many as 3,800 songs. Additionally, each user can swap out as many as 25 songs from their library each month.

And though BBM Music may not offer as many songs as its more experienced competition, it’s secured deals with all of the major labels—Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, EMI—and indie powerhouses such as The Orchard.
