The Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera is a mouthful to describe, but a joy to behold. The ball-shaped device is composed of 36 cell phone cameras arranged in a sphere and wrapped in foam. To take a picture, you simply throw it up in the air — a built-in accelerometer measures when the camera has reached its apex, and tells it to snap a photo.
The image that's created from all those cameras is a panoramic 360 degree aerial snapshot that's simply gorgeous to view and play around with. You can upload the photos to your computer via a USB port and zoom through the image to get literally all the angles on a scene.
Unfortunately, the Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera isn't ready for consumers just yet, but a patent is pending.
