Director Martin Campbell is in early discussion to shoot a film version of the somewhat-popular 1981TV series, The Fall Guy, according to Deadline. The movie will follow a script by Thor and X-Men: First Class writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz. The film was originally going to be set up at Dreamworks, but as of now that is no longer definite.
The original TV series starred Lee Majors as a Hollywood stuntman who also worked part-time as a bounty hunter. The show ran for five years and has since gained a cult following. This will be Campbell's first directing gig since Green Lantern fizzled at the box office.
It will be interesting to see if the director can recapture the magic he had when he rebooted the fledgling James Bond franchise with Casino Royale. Hell, at this point we'll be happy if The Fall Guy winds up as good as Campbell's Zorro flicks.
