This past weekend opened Jump N Funk's 10 Year Anniversary/Annual Felabration events, and both Miami and Los Angeles represented in the name of Fela and the Afro Global sound something lovely. One love to Bardot in Miami, and DJ Djinji Brown (Yoruba Soul Recordings) for rocking with me in Miami. One love to Sohani, Asya, Mariano, and my L.A. folks who got together with Mark and I before the show. Salute DJ Destroyer, Footlong Developments, Ryan Howard, Frolab Nito, and The Vanguard for taking care of us in L.A. One love to Freestyle Fellowship, Kigu, I Ced, Aloe Blacc, the lovely ladies of King Music, Danny Holloway, Dorian Missick, Eugene, Black, Concep from Brooklyn, and all other related fame who took the time to come rock with us Saturday night. Can't say enough good things about this past weekend.
And this week we get right back to it with Props at Le Poisson Rouge (weekly on Wednesdays), JNF's Afro House and Tropicalia Special at The Cabanas (at The Maritime Hotel), and Spreadlove's Felabration in Atlanta on Saturday. Everthing's coming up Fela! Bless up to any and all celebrating the music and legacy of Fela Anikulapo Kuti this month, congratulations to Fela! The Concert Tour, and thank you for 10 year's of Jump N Funk. Everybody say yeah yeah…
