Trailer Time: "Kingdoms Of Amalur" Gives You A Second Chance At Life

Which is good, because that whole being dead thing wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

Get used to hearing about Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning because the more we see of this game, the more we think it's kind of a big deal.  Amalur is being developed by Curt Schilling's—of MLB pitching fame—38 Studios and has a roleplaying game dream team working on it.  The lead designer for The Elder Scrolls III and IV, Ken Rolston, is the executive designer for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.  The creator of Spawn, Todd McFarlane, is the art director and the wildy popular fantasy author, R.A. Salvatore, has been enlisted to create the game's universe and lore.  In the game, you create a hero, who has been recently returned to life, and it's up to you to choose your allies to thwart overwhelming evil.  Choice seems to be paramount in Amalur as you can join various factions who all have their own advantages and pitfalls. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is being developed for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 and has a launch date set for February 7, 2012.
