Fanboys, geeky girls, and all around nerds get ready as The Avengers will be assembling in the Big Apple next month for New York Comic-Con 2011. A panel is set for Saturday, October 15 at 6:30PM at the IGN Theater and you better get there early as audiences will witness never-before-seen footage of Joss Whedon's massive superhero mash-up movie.

The official description reads:

"Continuing the epic big-screen adventures started in Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America: The First Avenger, in Marvel's The Avengers, the world's greatest super-heroes must assemble to pull the world back from the brink of disaster when an unexpected enemy threatens global security. This special presentation will feature never-before-seen footage and appearances by special surprise guests."

With production already wrapped for The Avengers, Comic-Con compatriots could see Earth's Mightiest Heroes live and in living color. We just hope to get an up close look at Scarlett Johansson in her Black Widow costume! For those outside the New York area, you'll have to wait to see The Avengers movie in full when the gang hit theaters on May 4, 2012.
