We can all agree that a good RPG can be ruined by horrible voice acting. Sure, great gameplay foundation can carry a title a long way, but players won’t want to invest 20, 40, or 80+ hours into an RPG such as the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim if the voice work that you will be listening to for all those hours isn’t of the highest quality. Bethesda appears to be taking that fact into consideration and has revealed a stellar ensemble cast for the upcoming game.

The developers are bringing together some truly master thespians for Skyrim, to ensure that the game has the same quality as these actors Broadway and screen works. Members of the voice cast of the new game include (in no particular order):

  • Christopher Plummer, Emmy and Tony Award winner, Academy Award nominy, starred inprojects as Up, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, and The Insider
  • Max Von Sydow, Academy Award nominee, starred in The Exorcist, Shutter Island, Minority Report, and The Tudors
  • Joan Allen, Tony Award winner and Academy Award nominee, starred in The Contender, Nixon, The Bourne Supremacy, and The Crucible
  • Michael Hogan, featured in Battlestar Galactica, Mass Effect 2, and Red Riding Hood
  • Vladimir Kulich, feautured in the 13th Warrior, the X-Files, and Angel
  • Claudia Christian of Babylon 5, Nip/Tuck, and NYPD Blue
  • Diane Louise Salinger of Ghost World, Garden State, and Batman Returns
  • Renee Victor from Weeds
  • George Coe from the West Wing, Gilmore Girls, and Judging Amy

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be available on November 11, 2011 for the Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3.
