Dub Invasion Festival, the multi-day celebration of dub, the Kingston style known for its murky bass and dripping production that dates back to the '60s, starts tonight in NYC with a dub workshop taught by the legendary Mad Professor. The free workshop begins at 6 p.m. (check the festival's website for more info).

But the real draw of the festival is all the epic performances. Adrian Sherwood, Lee "Scratch" Perry (dub's godfather), Mad Professor (of course), and more will showcase the past, present, and future of the genre.

Dub Invasion Festival also takes over Boston on Thursday, September 15.

All the information regarding performances is available online. Check it out.
