Back when Facebook was the solely the playground of college kids wildin' 'cause they're young, the Poke button, though creepy, was all the rage. Now, with the world's largest social network looking to compete with rising networks competitors, it seems the Poke button has no place in Facebook's future.
No longer positioned directly beneath the "Add Friend" on user's pages, the Poke button has been hidden in a drop-down menu along with two other rarely used options: "Suggest Friends" and "Report/Block". So, no, Facebook has not gotten rid of the Poke button, but really, it may as have. Facebook is changing day-by-day to accommodate a swath of users it never imagined it would need to cater to. We wouldn't be surprised if it disappeared completely within the next year.
