If you're looking for a more in-depth and hardcore approach to playing RPGs, you'll have to wait just a little longer than previously expected. Xbox 360 fans won't like to hear that the console version of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings won't be out until the first quarter of 2012, but the reasons why should tide them over until then.

Developer CD Projekt RED say they want to deliver a fully polished product to gamers, and while that may be an increasingly common explanation, it's still a good one. According to the CEO Marcin Iwiński, speaking via press release, "The extra time will allow us to polish the title to perfection, so that the game offers an ideally balanced, fantastic experience to gamers." While the press release sounds very zen-like, it's actually a fancy way of saying nothing. The truth seems a bit more juicier.

Seems like that pesky legal case that Namco Bandai has with CD Projekt RED is stopping the Xbox 360 port from happening. Let's hope this drama ends soon, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings definitely turned our heads when we saw it at this year's E3
