9. McCormick Field
Sometimes in the middle of a too, too hot Carolina summer, you need to head to the mountains and commune with the mountain folk doing mountain folk things. Don't know about you, but for us this usually involves nudity and the study of high altitude flora. But once you've done all that communin', it's good to come back down into town and take in a ballgame, and McCormick Field in Asheville is the best place in the world to do that. Built in 1924, McCormick is one of the classic southern minor league parks, nestled into a hillside on the south side of downtown. Just be sure to remember to put your clothes back on before you walk up.
